the wharf amphitheater seating view

Spread the love

amphitheater centennial moses lake concert We went about Noon, thinking we would shop a little & then have lunch. Finally my teen boys had enough & were ready to eat. Saw Steely Dan there, who were great, BTW. It's a great addition to the Orange Beach scene. more, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Foley, and Spanish Fort Attraction Ticket. The amphitheater is a very well laid out venue and the facility is nice, which makes it more unfortunate that the general experience is such a downer.I was harassed by the local police in the VIP parking lot even though I had the proper passes and credentials. Redneck city. This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of English in the United States. Review tags are currently only available for English language reviews. Afterwards we ate at Rafters, a sports bar in the Wharf with a late-night menu that was perfect for a post-concert celebration. We looked at the menu posted outside. We looked at several VERY expensive stores and then a few average priced stores. We especially liked HL Hood and H20--great clothes, cute swimsuits and a variety of flip-flops to suit everyone. And, if you have bleachers, they are metal, too. We saw Miranda Lambert and Gary Allan at the Ampitheater and were happy with its ease of entrance and exit, great sound quality, and overall atmosphere. The security was a joke. It was all very "fru-fru" foods & would have cost about $110 for the four of us to eat lunch. The Amphitheater at The Wharf: Let me start by saying I agree with the other review about the Steely Dan Concert, the chairs in the "reserved" seating is disappointing as was the spacing for your knees. The line of people returning to their cars to stash umbrellas was as long as the line going in.Drink prices are exorbitant, but that's to be expected. Reviews state that it "comes alive" at night, but I didn't see much that would have been entertaining even then. My two picky teenaged children enjoyed the ride, and my husband and I took pictures of the view every time our gondola was at the top! The sound seemed pretty good here for a concert. Lastly, the gestapo decended upon patrons enjoying the concert (dancing) and were told by security that they must sit down or would be escorted out of the facility, to the boos of the surrounding patrons who also wanted to let loose.Eventually, as the concert entered its final 30 minutes, the cameras and the dancers defied the gestapo and the real party began.By the way, Steely Dan was great, despite the attempts by security to throw a wet blanket on the night. My advice, bring a cushion to sit on, bring ponchos if the weather is threatening, and only use your camera in the last 30 minutes while you are dancing in the spaceless isles. I had read mixed reviews but in Orange Beach there was alot of positive promotion so we decided to try it. If you run out of things to do, it may be worth it to look around, but don't skip something else to go. The only restaurant open was Villagio. Don't think about dancing, cuz you'll be harassed by security and maybe thrown out. Godfathers Pizzaclosed Johnny Rocketsclosed Sandwich shop.closed. The price for water ($4) was a bit high for an outdoor facility.

1st they would not allow umbrellas inside an open air facility even though it was raining as most patrons entered the arena, patrons were turned back to their vehicles to store their umbrellas. While there may be more resonably-priced shopping at the outlet mall in Foley or the souvenir shops on Beach Boulevard, the Wharf is the place for women who want stylish, fun shopping and a great meal without a fuss over parking or finding something to suit everyone's tastes or budget.

The next day we hit some shops; many of the stores at the Wharf specialize in women's clothing, beachwear, accessories and home goods that offer a range of prices and quality. It was 85+ degrees, too. We missed out and had a crappy meal quite a ways off from the venue. We were 4 of about 20 people total at the Wharf. The gestapo security constantly walked the isles looking for violators to this menace. There is an accessory shop that I could have spent hours in, but that is my style. Saw Steely Dan there, who were great, BTW. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. My wife and I went to the Steely Dan concert here. As stated before, it was raining but no umbrellas were allowed in. No thanks, will not be back. We ate lunch at Villagio, a casual bistro-style restaurant with an Italian-skewed menu that also utilizes local foods and recipes. The venue is okay, but the seats in the lower levels are nothing but old card table metal chairs. Observation Decks & Towers, Points of Interest & Landmarks, Boat Tours, Private Tours, Boat Rentals, Dolphin & Whale Watching, Nature & Wildlife Tours. Our group of ladies (moms in their early 50's, daughters in their early 20's) made the Wharf our base for a girl's weekend in Orange Beach. Security are a humorless and hard-nosed lot. The only comfortable seats are the corporate seating areas.Parking for the concert wasn't bad at all, but the concert seemed only half sold. The amphitheater is a very well laid out venue and the facility is nice, which makes it more unfortunate that the general experience is such a downer. It is obvious that the venue tried to smash as many rows of chairs as possible into as small a space as possible, because there was zero knee space, and after 15 minutes of sitting on these "card Table" steel folding chairs, your butt was killing you. we decided to leave & got lunch elsewhere. Beautiful! Then NO cameras were allowed, not even cell photos. Take a cushion. Best time to go is in the evening when the Ferris Wheel is lit up. We went on 7/28/11 and were surprised. The Wharf is good for families who want to see a movie or get off the beach, but it's tailor-made for a girl's weekend where the priorities are to shop, eat, drink, and maybe catch a concert. We went to the Wharf to ride their 112 foot Ferris Wheel, said to be the largest in the area. I would expect to pay $4 for water at an A/C arena with padded seating, but not here. To top it all off, I got pick-pocketed, a first in my 50 years. If you are looking for a place to eat prior to attending to an event here, there are plenty of nice restaurants on Canal Road very close.
